About the District

The Indiana District is a local chapter of the Precision Metalforming Association. We meet several times a year, and our board is comprised of members from various sectors of the metalforming industry. We strive to provide our members with a forum for networking and new business opportunities.

Membership and activity in our district will allow your company to expand into new markets and enhance your employees' expertise and development.

About PMA

PMA is the full-service trade association representing the $91-billion metalforming industry of North America—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating and other value-adding processes. Its nearly 1,200 member companies include metal stampers, fabricators, spinners, slide formers and roll formers as well as suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry. Members are located in 30 countries. The majority are found in North America―including 41 states of the United States as well as Canada and Mexico.

Indiana Metalforming Group Earns Training Grant

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has awarded a $196,500 grant to the Indiana District of the Precision Metalforming Association to fund two training programs: press-operator and die-setter certification, and advanced manufacturing certification. Vincennes University will oversee the programs; program administrator is the Indiana Business Modernization and Technology Corp. Eleven Indiana companies have enrolled 105 employees in the press-operator and die-setter classes, and 93 employees in the advanced-manufacturing classes.

PMA's Indiana District Supports Advocacy Efforts

The Indiana District has contributed $2000 to support PMA's 2006 advocacy efforts. The funds will help PMA continue to heighten the metalforming industry's presence in Washington, D.C. The association's advocacy agenda for the year includes focusing on raw material pricing and availability issues, health care reform, trade law enforcement and currency undervaluation. PMA will also be working closely with the Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing and Services, Al Frink, to promote policies that create a positive business environment for U.S. manufacturers.

The Indiana District Board members encourage PMA's other districts to follow their lead and contribute to PMA's advocacy efforts. For more information or to contribute, contact Christie Carmigiano or Justin Ketchem at 216/901-8800 or govrel@pma.org.

PMA sincerely thanks the Indiana District for its generous support!
